Q: What is CurveCorrect Ingrown Toenail Treatment?

A: It’s a thin, flexible, composite toenail strip that you bond to your toenail. The ingrown toenail strip reduces the curve of your toenail. This treatment is known medically as Orthonyxia. See product photos.

Q: How does it treat ingrown toenails?

A: The toe nail strip is straight and flexible like a spring. When it's bonded to the curved surface of your toenail it applies a gentle force that straightens the nail. The toenail strip gradually lifts each side of the nail reducing its pressure against the skin. When pressure from the side of the nail is reduced, ingrown toenail pain is eliminated. See how does it work for more detailed information.

Q: Will it treat MY ingrown toenail?

A: Yes. Unless your toenail is very thick or curved more than 180° it will provide complete treatment of painful ingrown toenails and dramatically improve the appearance of your toes. Thickened or rigid toenails are resistant to the corrective forces of the toenail brace.

Q: How long does treatment take?

A: Users have reduced pain in the first few days. The toenail will be less curved and pain-free in the first week. Chronic ingrown toenail sufferers should apply a new toenail strip monthly for one complete regrowth of the toenail while for others just 1-2 treatments are enough. Each ingrown toenail kit has 10 toenail strips.

Q: Is it a permanent solution for ingrown toenails?

A: Yes. Studies show that following our plan and properly caring for your toenails after treatment prevents ingrown toenails from returning for 92% of users. Proper toenail trimming and wearing shoes that allow enough room for your toes will help prevent recurrence.

Q: Does it require special care?

A: No. You can go about your normal activities within a few minutes of applying the ingrown toe nail strip. Showering and swimming are fine. Substances like topical nail medications, lotions, ointment, toenail softeners or essential oils should be avoided since these can damage the adhesive bond or prevent bonding. We do recommend that you discontinue soaking your feet if you've been doing this to relieve ingrown toenail pain.

Q: Is it safe?

A: Yes. This treatment is medically known as Orthonyxia or toenail bracing and practiced worldwide by physicians and nail professionals. There's no cutting, drugs or toxic chemicals involved. Just a tiny strip that gently trains your toenail to grow correctly. The strip can be removed anytime.

Q: How long does the ingrown toenail strip stay on?

A: Each toe nail strip will stay on for 3-6 weeks. The adhesive bond weakens with time and often you will find the toenail strip when you take your sock off. When it falls off just file off the adhesive and apply it again or replace it. 10 strips are supplied with the ingrown toenail kit.

Q: How do I remove the toe nail strip?

A: Acetone or nail polish remover will weaken the adhesive. If necessary use a gentle prying force under the the strip to loosen its bond. File the strip in half if necessary to make removal easier.

Q: What if I have trouble reaching my toes?

A: You can have a spouse, friend or relative apply the toenail brace for you. Nail salons will also apply CurveCorrect if you ask.

Q: Can I still apply nail polish to my toenails?

A: Yes, but it will make reusing braces impossible. All existing nail polish must be removed to apply the toenail strip. Nail polish can then be applied over the strip.

Q: Is it painful to use?

A: No. If you're using the correct brace, you will notice reduced ingrown toenail pain the same day you apply the toenail brace.

Q: Can children use it?

A: Yes. However, the standard brace, if used on a child, will correct the nail too quickly and cause pain. If you intend to treat a child's toenail we recommend the .007 brace. See our brace tension guidelines.

Q: Can it treat ingrown fingernails?

A: Yes. If you intend to treat a fingernail we recommend the .007 braces.

Q: What are the benefits of CurveCorrect over ingrown toenail surgery?

  • CurveCorrect straightens the curve of your toenail. No ingrown toenail surgery is currently available to straighten the toenail.
  • More convenient.
  • No pain.
  • No recovery.
  • Much less expensive.
  • No disfigurement.

Product Questions

Do you have a guarantee?

Can I reuse the toenail strips?
Is CurveCorrect available in stores?

If I just need more ingrown toenail braces or toenail brace adhesive do I have to buy a whole new kit?

Q: How many toenail strips come with the CurveCorrect ingrown toenail kit?

A: 10.

Q: Is the toe nail strip noticeable to other people?

A: No. The material is very thin and transparent. It will be difficult for you or anyone around you to see.

Q: Do you have a guarantee?

A: Yes. We offer a 90-day 100% money-back guarantee.

Q: How long will the ingrown toenail kit last?

A: Around 8-10 months due to shelf life of the adhesive. There are enough braces in the ingrown toenail kit for about 1 year of continuous treatment on one toe or 6 months of continuous treatment on two toes. Refrigerate for maximum life (do not freeze).

Q: Can I reuse the toenail strips?

A: Yes. Depending on how much the brace was fatigued or damaged from adhesive overuse, it can be re-used. Just file the adhesive from all surfaces and re-apply.

Q: Is CurveCorrect available in stores?

A: CurveCorrect is currently only available from our company website. www.CurveCorrect.com

Q: How should I store CurveCorrect?

A: The adhesive will offer maximum life when refrigerated (do not freeze). At a minimum you should store your ingrown toenail treatment kit in the coolest place in your home. You can expect about 8-10 months from the adhesive. It slowly loses strength during that time.

Q: If I just need more ingrown toenail braces or toenail brace adhesive do I have to buy a whole new kit?

A: No. The components in the ingrown toenail kit are all available individually on a refill basis. If you need more of something please contact us with your prior order number for ordering instructions.

Pre-existing Condition Questions

What if I've had ingrown toenail surgery before?
What if my doctor, podiatrist or nail technician trimmed off the side of my toenail?
What if my toe is infected?
What if I have thin toenails?

Q: What if I've had ingrown toenail surgery before?

A: 30% of our customers have previously had ingrown toenail surgery (matrixectomy). You're a great candidate for this type of treatment.

Q: What if my doctor, podiatrist or nail technician trimmed off the side of my toenail?

A: This is commonly practiced to temporarily reduce ingrown toenail pain. You should order a lower tension strip apply it to the toenail that remains.

Q: What if my toe is infected?

A: We do not suggest you use CurveCorrect if your toe is badly infected, if you suffer from poor blood circulation, disorders like brittle, splitting toenails, toenail separation, toenail fungus, psoriatic toenails, damage to the toenail from an injury or any other toenail disorder. Consult your doctor or podiatrist before using CurveCorrect if your toe is badly infected or if you're diabetic.

Q: What if I have thin toenails?

A: The standard toenail strip, if used on very thin toenails, will correct the nail too quickly and cause pain. If you intend to treat a very thin toenail we recommend the .120, .100 or .007 braces.
