How Does it Work

ingrown-toenail-treatment-how-it-works.jpg

CurveCorrect takes a modern approach on how to treat ingrown toenails, using a flexible composite toenail brace. These braces are made of a thin, virtually invisible material that you simply bond to the top of your toenail. The toenail brace acts like a spring, straightening the curve of the toenail, lifting each side and reducing its pressure against the skin.

How is this possible?
Toenails are made up of a flexible protein called keratin and completely renew themselves every 6-12 months. Due to the flexibility and regenerative qualities of keratin it's possible to change its shape. When the pressure against your skin from the side of the toenail is reduced, ingrown toenail pain quickly goes away.

What can I expect?

  • Ingrown toenail pain is reduced shortly after applying the brace.
  • Ingrown toenail pain is eliminated within the first week.
  • The curve of the toenail is slowly reduced over a period of 2-3 weeks.
  • Depending on how curved the toenail, the brace will remain bonded for 4-6 weeks.

What do I do?
Follow the instructions to apply the toenail brace. The brace will remain bonded for 4-6 weeks. Chronic ingrown toenail sufferers should apply a new brace each time the old brace falls off. For these users we recommend continuous treatment without interuption for a complete regrowth of the toenail to minimize the possibility of the ingrown toenail recurring. For those who are experiencing their first ingrown toenail or who experience them occasionally, just one or two treatments will be enough.

Preventing recurrence after treatment.
Proper foot and toenail care is critical to prevent recurrence. Wear shoes minimally or at least wear shoes that leave room for the toes to move freely. Trim your toenails straight across without rounding the corners.
